Axial STIR image(1) shows a T2 hypointense lesion in the anterior aspect of the right submandibular duct consistent with calculus. Upstream dilatation of the right submandibular duct is noted(1 and 3). The right submandibular gland is mildly enlarged and shows subtle STIR hyperintensity(2). The bilateral parotid glands are normal in signal intensity(4).
Diagnosis
Right submandibular duct sialolithiasis with possible right submandibular gland sialadenitis.
